The Lemont Center for the Arts and Lemont Art & Culture Commission is pleased to feature artwork by Linda Berck at Pollyanna Brewing Company.
A former Lemont High School art teacher, Linda retired in 2003 and later became a snowbird in Arizona, where she fell in love with the desert landscape. The forests of saguaros, prickly pears, and barrel cacti quickly became more than scenery. They became shapes, colors, textures, and patterns she could transform into joyful, expressive paintings. Linda’s work does not simply duplicate the cactus-filled landscapes of Arizona. Instead, it captures a feeling: the brightness, movement, and energy of a place that continues to inspire her. While living in Rio Verde, Arizona, Linda became known as “the garage lady” because her studio was in her open garage, where walkers, bikers, golfers, and neighbors would stop by to visit, watch her paint, and often leave with a piece of art. Join us at Pollyanna on Saturday, June 6, from 5 to 7 PM for Linda’s artist reception. Stop in, meet the artist, enjoy the exhibit, and experience the colorful world of Arizona through her eyes. |
